Precision Gene Editing
CRISPR-based nucleases, base editors and prime editors that rewrite single DNA letters without cutting both strands.
- Fewer off-target edits
- Guide RNA design with machine learning
- Ex vivo and in vivo use
NovaGen Biosciences combines gene editing, targeted delivery, early-detection diagnostics and synthetic biology to turn discoveries in the lab into treatments and tests that reach patients.
Every cell reads instructions stored in DNA. Disease often begins when those instructions are changed, misread or switched on at the wrong time. Understanding this flow shows exactly where modern biotechnology can intervene.
Roughly 3 billion letters (A, T, G, C) store the genetic blueprint. Gene editing acts here, correcting or disabling faulty sequences.
Genes are copied into messenger RNA (mRNA). RNA-based medicines act here to turn gene activity up or down.
Ribosomes translate mRNA into proteins, the machines of the cell. Engineered enzymes and antibodies act here.
Proteins build tissue, signal, defend and metabolize. Diagnostics detect biomarkers when this goes wrong.
Each platform strengthens the others: better design improves editing, better delivery widens what can be treated, and better diagnostics find the right patients sooner.
CRISPR-based nucleases, base editors and prime editors that rewrite single DNA letters without cutting both strands.
Lipid nanoparticles and engineered viral vectors that carry editors to the right tissue and nowhere else.
Blood-based tests that read cell-free DNA (cfDNA) fragments and methylation patterns to flag disease before symptoms.
Engineered enzymes and microbes that manufacture therapeutics, biomaterials and sustainable chemicals.
A disciplined, data-driven loop that cuts wasted effort and moves only the strongest candidates forward.
Genomics and patient data reveal genes and pathways that causally drive disease.
Computational models predict editor, guide and delivery performance before any bench work.
Cell models, organoids and animal studies test efficacy, specificity and safety.
Regulatory-grade manufacturing, IND-enabling studies and clinical partnerships.

Development typically spans 10 to 15 years through discovery, preclinical work and phase 1, 2 and 3 trials. Here is where each NovaGen program stands today.
| Program | Area | Modality | Stage | Progress |
|---|---|---|---|---|

New to the field? These short explainers cover the terms you will meet most often.
A system adapted from bacterial immune defense. A guide RNA leads the Cas9 protein to a matching DNA sequence, where it makes a cut that the cell then repairs, allowing genes to be disabled or corrected.
Next-generation editors that change individual DNA letters, or insert short sequences, without making a full double-strand break. This improves precision and reduces unwanted changes.
mRNA carries temporary instructions for making a protein. LNPs are tiny fat-based bubbles that protect mRNA and deliver it into cells, the same approach used in mRNA vaccines.
A measurable signal such as a protein, hormone or DNA fragment in blood that reveals normal biology, disease or response to treatment.
Cells release small DNA fragments into the bloodstream. Reading their sequence and chemical tags can reveal cancer-related changes from a simple blood draw.
Genomics studies the complete set of genes. Next-generation sequencing reads millions of DNA fragments in parallel, making whole-genome analysis fast and affordable.
An engineering approach to biology: standardized genetic parts are designed, built and tested to give cells new abilities, such as producing a medicine.
Phase 1 tests safety in small groups, phase 2 explores effectiveness and dosing, and phase 3 confirms benefit in large populations before regulators review approval.
